Is everything is included in the price?
Yes. You will be provided with a SUP board, paddle, buoyancy aid, wetsuit. If you have your own wetsuit and wish to use it, you can bring it along. We use some of the best available paddleboard equipment in the World. Our boards and custom adjustable paddles are from Red Paddle Co. All you just need swim gear, a towel and sunscreen.
Where do we meet?
The majority of our Beginner sessions are run from the New Pier in Ballyvaughan (see our Location page for details (insert link to Location Page) There is ample parking. However sometimes conditions on the day mean we may choose to run from another location. We will contact you in advance if this is the case. Also as we are a mobile school, we can run from other locations dependent on conditions and also upon request in advance. Note: there are no changing rooms or toilets located at where we launch. Please try to arrive at least 10 minutes before our session start time
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. All of our sessions are prebooked as session numbers are limited
What is the min/max age?
Generally kids from 10 years of age onwards are able to paddle their own board. Younger children can be accommodated but perhaps sharing a board or we tailor the session to suit to them. Please get in touch to enquire further about taking younger children paddleboarding. There is no max age really so long as you can put on a wetsuit and would be able to spend the session knee paddling if you had difficulty standing
Is SUP suitable for Families?
Yes absolutely. Paddleboarding is a great way fir everyone to get out and enjoy the water. We keep our groups small and can tailor our sessions to suit Families and those of all ages.
What if conditions aren’t suitable for my lesson?
Lessons take place subject to suitable weather conditions. If we decide that conditions for the day are looking not suitable, we would contact you in advance at the earliest notice possible. If we have to cancel a session we would aim to reschedule it.
Can I bring my medication (inhaler/insulin etc)?
Yes. Our instructors will have a dry bag with them if necessary. Note: You must declare any relevant medical or fitness concerns that may impact your participation
What is the minimum number of participants required?
Our sessions require a minimum of two people to run. If we do not have minimum numbers we will contact you in advance to give you notice and offer you an alternativ/li>
Will I be safe during my lesson?
Yes. All of our instructors are fully qualified beach lifeguards and fully trained in first aid. Our school is regulated and accredited and operates to the highest professional standards internationally. Head coach Peter Hynes has worked previously for the RNLI as a Coastal Safety Manager in Ireland. He is a fully qualified Beach Lifeguard, ISA Level 2 Surf Instructor and ASI SUP Instructor. He is also a RLSS Beach Lifeguard Trainer and travels up and down the country training and assessing Beach Lifeguards. Rest assured you are in safe hands.
